Steve Jobs Movie with Ashton Kutcher to Film in the Original Apple Garage

Aston Kutcher                          Steve Jobs

The TV movie of Steve Jobs’ life will be going to at least one authentic location to try tell the story.
Five Star Feature Films announced this week that its made-for-TV movie, jOBS: Get Inspired.. will be filming in the original garage at Jobs’ Los Altos, CA childhood home where he and Steve Wozniakfounded Apple.  While the press release states that the project is committed ”to accuracy and authenticity,” there is no word yet on what other real life locations from Jobs’ life will be used in the filming.
For those having trouble keeping track of the competing Steve Jobs films that are currently being worked on, jOBS is the one starring Ashton Kutcher, and before now it wasn’t clear that this will be a TV film.  We saw pictures just last week of Kutcher in his Steve Jobs costume, and we now know that the film will cover his life from 1971 to 2000.  This means it should cover the founding of Apple, his departure from the company, the founding of Pixar & NeXT and his eventual return to his original company.
The other film currently being worked on is from Sony and is the official adaptation of Walter Isaacson’s biography of Jobs.  Aaron Sorkin has been hired to write the screenplay, and Steve Wozniak has been brought on as a consultant for the film.
jOBS is expected to air on television some time this fall while no release date has been announced of yet for the Sony project.

Motorola: Some Phones Don’t Get ICS Because the OS Won’t Improve Them

Motorola’s Ice Cream Sandwich update schedule is looking mighty fine for owners of devices like the RAZR, RAZR MAXX and Droid 4. But what about those handsets that didn’t make the cut? What about the Droid 3 or Droid X2? Motorola doesn’t feel like Google’s latest OS will “improve” those devices. “If we determine [improvement] can’t be done—well then, we’re not able to upgrade that particular device.” How about that, Droid 3 and Droid X2 owners? What Motorola probably means to say is that the process it takes to develop, test and release Android 4.0 for older devices costs too much, and it would rather focus on newer releases. Either that, or Motorola is honestly trying to convince people that Ice Cream Sandwich won’t improve their phones.

Flashback Friday: Super Nintendo

You can keep all of your modern gaming systems because I will argue until the end of time that the Super Nintendo was one of the best gaming systems ever released.
Whether you call it the Super Famicom in Japan or the Super Nintendo in the United States, the early 1990′s console from Nintendo was hands-down one of the best ever released.  Sure it was limited by its cartridges, but it was still a killer system with a library of games that could make you go nearly broke buying all of the awesome titles that came out.  To this day I still have my original SNES, and it is still hooked up to a television.  While it may not see as much action as my Xbox 360, it does see me turning it on a lot more than my Wii.
Compared to the original Nintendo system, the SNES represented a stunning leap in technology from the graphics to controllers that felt far more natural in the hand.  It was just an all around awesome system that I am still proud to say I own.
I would also go so far as to say, if I could only take one gaming system with me to a deserted island (yeah yeah, just assume I have a power source some how), it would be this one.
